Citizens can now pay property taxes online
Clackamas County's Department of Assessment and Taxation is now accepting credit card, debit card or e-check payments online. Those wishing to pay with a credit or debit card must use either Visa or MasterCard.
E-checks are electronic deductions from checking accounts that use bank routing and account numbers. Card and e-check payments can only be processed online - not in person at the Tax Collection Office. Full or partial payments are accepted. Payments may be made for one account per transaction. Those interested in paying their property taxes online can go to www.clackamas.us/at .
The County's online payment service provider will charge a convenience fee of 2.35 percent of the payment amount when using a Visa or MasterCard. When paying with an e-check, the fee is $3. Clackamas County does not receive any portion of this convenience fee.
The online payment process is a voluntary service and there is no additional fee for making a direct property tax payment to the County Tax Collector, either in person or by mail. To avoid interest charges and take advantage of any discount, tax payments must be postmarked by November 15, 2007. If making an online payment, your payment is considered timely if the transmission time and date is prior to November 15, 2007 at 11:59 p.m.
For the public's convenience, the Department of Assessment and Taxation is open every Saturday during November and December, except December 22nd; from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Citizens may leave after hours phone messages at 503-655-8671 or e-mail questions to the office at: PropertyTaxInfo@co.clackamas.or.us. The Clackamas County Department of Assessment and Taxation is located at 168 Warner Milne Road in Oregon City.
